SeaCrest: You should be good to go to register for a stable then, fallingfeather!

fallingfeather: I have, but it was never responded to. Did I do something wrong in my application?

SeaCrest: Did you PM the PPC Admin account? I don't see any unread messages, could you please bump it for me? You'll never *not* get a response, we'll always tell you what's wrong!

PPC Admin: Oh wait sorry, stable registration is done through the thread! I forgot that. Unfortunately I can't get everything squared away for you because becki is the one who does the LE stable ponies!
Jun 2, 2020 21:05:28 GMT
fallingfeather: That's ok! I don't mind not have the LE pony yet, I just want to have a thread where I can have all of my ponies in one spot. :3

PPC Admin: You're welcome to set up a thread in USR Notes in the meantime, but I don't want to piecemeal approve things in case it makes it harder for becki to catch up! When I hear back from her I'll let you know!

Calling the vast lands of the Northern tundra their home, Quaint Caribou roam in large groups. Within these groups are smaller, independently owned herds and two times a year, once in Spring, the other in Autumn, the herds are rounded up and cared for. The new calves are inspected and adults are traded between owners. There is also a chance to buy a Caribou and start your own herd. Quaint Caribou are naturally very shy. It takes time, patience and a little bit of magic to catch one and tame it. Trained Caribou are highly prized and the very best wear beautiful and colourful leather harnesses.
Males and females both have antlers, but the males antlers are much larger. They come in both magical and natural colours.
The time has come for the Autumn round up. There is a definite nip in the air, snow lies on the mountains in the distance and the ground beneath the many cloven hooves is frozen solid. In one lattice fenced pen, a group of young Caribou are looking for new homes. Will you be one of the lucky few to try and tame one?
Post a few lines of RP below of you trying to tame one. Which technique will you try? Treats? Sit with them for a while? Read to them?
Becki was not really a fan of the cold, her own home was full of blankets and cosy candles, but nonetheless, she layered up because today was the day, the autumn round up had begun, and she was going to try and find a founder for her first Caribou herd!
Arriving at the pen Becki walked calmy, pausing and leaning against the fence, slowly edging closer to where the young group were huddled, letting them get used to her presence slowly. She was looking for healthy coats and alert eyes, a couple of them seemed to stare her down, others were not so bothered. She decided to let the Caribou choose her, and out of her pockets she pulled some long sprigs of willow, holding them out and whistling some encouragement!
The group of caribou eye the new stranger warily, their breaths creating clouds around their velveteen noses. They huddle closely together beside the whicker fencing. But one male catches the scent of the willow sprigs on the chilly autumn air. His ears prick forward as he catches the musical notes of whistling, and, ever so slowly, he ambles over for a closer look. And that willow looks very tasty. Gently, he noses her hand.
Congrats becki! You have earned the trust of a bull Caribou. Feel free to pick a name and age for him!
Stevie went out for a hack. Her mind was full of questions and she just needed some time for herself. She planned to go to the mountains to catch some fresh air and clean her mind. Then, suddenly, she saw a Caribou herd right in front of her. She came closer to the fence and carefully hunkered down. They were such fascinating animals. Stevie let herself imagine having one of her own at her ranch. She got carried away by the thought and when she opened her eyes again she realised some Caribous were closer to her then before. She stayed still. Knowing how shy these animals were she did not want to scare them. She just tried to enjoy their presence.
Then she started thinking of how she could get one. Of course, she could rope one. Her whole childhood consisted of helping her father working on a ranch. But that was not Stevie's way. She wanted to gain their trust. And also, she believed in fate. She trully believed that the right one will find his way to her. So she stayed still and after a few moments she started singing one of her favourite songs silently. And within a few moments the mountains returned her song back to her thanks to their amazing echo...
