I think one thing most of us can bond on is our history of other pet sites and forums both past and present! Lets share our links and experiences from other sites along the years <3 I would have to give heavy credit to forums such as; ShadowFlight Acres (Tiniequines) - by Raven The Orchard Messagepost - by Silvanon Sanori Garden Terrace - by Jewel , site down :c U'Lliyani Forum - by Unyko TheXCrossroads - by Raven Secundi - by Silvanon These are all forums that to me represent the core fun of adopting and collecting, being a happy community and focusing on the appreciation and care for the species and lore other USRs would create. I'm sad most of them are inactive, and its a big reason I started to make this forum. Were you a member of any/all these forums? Do you still have your old adoptables? Am I missing some sites you loved?! Lets talk

Ahhh I used to be on the Garden Terrace! I have to admit I don't remember you much from over there. I recently found ddpej on tumblr, they're still in Christmas card contact with littlesapphire! I haven't been able to find Nyaro or anyone else though Did you have any flions or xandella? I have several flions, and I adopted a xandella egg, although I don't think I ever got the adult image for it T_T I also have no records of who owned what dragocampi, including my own lol So I have all the images but no records. I'm wondering if I ought to try and get in contact with littlesapphire and see if she'd be willing to let me bring dragocampi to Secundi... Did anyone ever play MagiStream?

Girls, do you know any other active pet sites like this one? This is my first of this kind and I love it! I would like to check some others (staying loyal to this one which I love, of course lol).

@sea idk why I missed this post. Oh thats awesome that you still hear about ddpej and littlesapphire! I hope they're well, I'm really kicking myself because I never hosted any of my own images from the creatures I adopted there. I definitely had a couple of flions amongst many others I can't 100% remember the names of (I'm sure in the revival a few years ago she had some smaller drake type species as well >>) I also play magistream, but never really got into the community much! stevieI'm not too sure about any other forum based games like this atm, but Secundi has seen some activity during these lockdown days! The discord is more active than the forum which we can get you an invite too, but sign ups for the forum are temporarily closed because a lot of bots were spamming the forum. It's a collection of multiple adoptable shops by some lovely people

becki ❀You might be able to get in contact with ddpej to see if they have the images anywhere? I was lucky and saved mine, but I can ask ddpej! I know they took over the flions for Jewel when Jewel had to step back a little, but all of the subsequent flion information was in the Terrace, so only ddpej has those records now. Do you mean Xandellas? I don't know how "new" they were compared to flions (I think both species were established by the time I rolled around?) but they're the second species Jewel ran out of the Gardens. There were also plushies (I still have the base files for those, as I was a maker!) and dragocampi, which Jewel gave to me after deciding she couldn't run them in addition to flions and xandellas. I have all the images and files for them, but I did all the recordkeeping on the Terrace, so now I don't know who owns anything anymore >< I haven't played Magistream actively in years, I think I got pretty tired of the grind to grow creatures, and also all of my friends on there drifted away over the years! stevieI'm with becki, I don't think I know of any others similar to this, that aren't hosted on their own site with their own fancy coded features and such. You can usually find forum adoptables on most sites that have forums, but they're typically not as involved as PPC is!

I can't remember if I ended up joining the Crossroads or not, but I know I was a member of all of the rest of the above except for Sanori Garden Terrace!
I was just thinking about the Orchard yesterday, and how much things have changed since then. Back then, everyone had their own website (thanks, Tripod, Geocities, etc, lol) and there was so much focus on paging and writing up stories for each creature... sometimes I miss it, but I also know that (global pandemics aside) I doubt I'd have the time or energy to keep up with it nowadays... but man, was that a huge part of my life for a while!
I do think I have most of my old adoptables still saved on one of my drives, though I'm probably missing a few here and there. And I think my embarrassing old Tripod site is still up, haha.
I also really loved Valenth back before it exploded... was more the collect-and-click type of thing, but I adored the theme and the plot and the RPs over there. Was a shame that it ended the way it did.

saturnaliaOoh, whatever happened to Valenth? I stopped playing a little before the Great Collapse and I never got much in the way of details e.e

From what I could gather, the guy who hosted the site (along with Subeta and stuff?) decided to shut it down or that he didn't want to put effort into it/host it? anymore. DNA, who ran it, had a lot of offers of finding a solution or transferring it somewhere else or... I dunno, finding some other solution, but opted to just shut the whole thing down and disappear, more or less.
Or, at least, that's how the whole thing came off. I'm sure there were a great many little details that only the owners/people involved were privy to, but the whole thing was sudden, dramatic, and really disheartening.

saturnaliaOh man, that sucks. I assume there was some time before the shutdown, at least? An old game I used to play, UniCreatures (and its forums UniFaction) got shutdown overnight because the owner had some kind of argument with the artists or something, and nobody had any chance to save anything. That kind of thing always sucks, especially when there's no alternatives to keep the community together still.

SeaCrest I can't remember the exact timeline, but I think it all happened within or under a week. They put out some program thing to save your pets, but I can't remember if it actually worked for me or not? I could probably go check on my external drive... I actually have a t-shirt from them with one of the Boralions on it. I still wear it, and I'm always sort of hopeful that someone will recognize it someday, though that's probably a longshot!

saturnaliaAch, that's not a lot of time, but at least there was some warning! I don't think I saved any of mine, alas!

It's a shame so many old adoptables forums aren't active anymore! I actually found this site when trying to look for some of the old ones I used to frequent- I never knew that that's what happened to Valenth and Unicreatures! I actually work for a site called Hidden Crossroads: hxrv2.freeforums.net/It's one of the old school adoptable sites, open since 2006. It's definitely seen better/more active days, but it's still kicking! The original owner/artist abandoned it, causing it to slowly die as the site got more poorly managed and images started breaking... so a small section of the members decided to copy everything over and essentially take over. The original artist checked back in and essentially gave permission for us to keep running it, so now it's doing a lot better! We haven't been able to get any new members yet (unfortunately), but a lot of our old members have come back and it's a lot more active then it's been in a long time- we've even started releasing new species and adoptables again! It's so cool to have played on that site as a kid, and now I'm a moderator and artist for it as an adult. :3 It's an exciting experience, to say the least.

fallingfeatherI remember the Magical Menagerie Labs! Or well. I remember the site, but I don't recognize a lot of the species that are listed on that forum now haha I'm so glad that there's been a revival, I remember loving checking up on the site and seeing all the new creatures and growths!

Omg, I didn't know you were a member! Yeah, we're still kicking! The Magical Menagerie Labs have been "on hiatus" story-wise (as the original artist left and we didn't feel comfortable creating new species in his name, so to speak), so now we have the "WELP Corp", the source of new species. :3 Feel free to check it out- it's where all the new stuff is coming from nowadays. I get to draw all of it too!!

I'm so late to the pixels game! Dating myself a bit here, so don't mind me XD, the original sprites and pixels I'm used to are the doll sites that sprout up due to everyone who wanted page dolls on MySpace. Something like this: nostalgic.neocities.org/adopts/dolls/pixeldolls.htmlI knew of probards / suddenlaunch / invisionfree because I would sign up for literature roleplays and was heavy into photomanipulation at the time. But, now I know about all these awesome sites!!!
